Integrative Psycho-Spiritual Therapy in Barrie, Ontario
A deeply human therapeutic framework — for those whose healing cannot be separated from their spiritual life.
Integrative Psycho-Spiritual Therapy is offered by Wanda Nayduk, Registered Occupational Therapist and psychotherapist, 39 years in practice — in Barrie, across Simcoe County, and by secure virtual session across Canada and internationally.
Some wounds cannot be healed by the mind alone
There are people who arrive at therapy having already done significant work. They have made real progress — and yet something remains. Something that the clinical frameworks they have encountered do not quite reach. Something that lives not only in the psychology, not only in the emotions or the nervous system, but in a deeper layer of their experience that most therapy simply does not address.
If you are one of those people — if your healing journey has always felt inseparable from your spiritual life, your search for meaning, your relationship with the sacred, or the deepest questions of who you are and why you are here — then Integrative Psycho-Spiritual Therapy may be exactly what you have been looking for. And if you are in Barrie, Simcoe County, or anywhere across Canada or around the world — it is available to you.

What is Integrative Psycho-Spiritual Therapy?
Integrative Psycho-Spiritual Therapy is a therapeutic framework developed by Wanda Nayduk over 39 years of clinical practice, personal spiritual exploration, and her own deep inner healing work. It is the fruit of a lifetime spent at the intersection of psychological depth, occupational wholeness, and spiritual wisdom — and it is offered in person in Barrie and by secure virtual session across Canada.
“I developed this approach because I kept meeting people who were doing everything right — and still carrying something that therapy alone could not touch. That something was spiritual. And it deserved to be met with the same care, skill, and respect as everything else.”
At its heart this approach rests on a simple but profound conviction: the human being cannot be fully healed by attending to the mind and emotions alone. We are also spiritual beings — for whom meaning, purpose, transcendence, and connection to something larger than the self are fundamental dimensions of what it means to be human. Integrative Psycho-Spiritual Therapy is Wanda’s response to the incompleteness that results when those dimensions are left unattended.
The three pillars of the framework
Pillar one — psychotherapy and occupational therapy. The clinical foundation: psychodynamic psychotherapy, trauma-informed care, CBT, somatic awareness, and the occupational therapy perspective on daily functioning and meaningful living. Wanda practises psychotherapy under her COTO registration, and how she works across both scopes is described on its own page.
Pillar two — formal spiritual direction. Woven through and alongside the psychotherapeutic work is formal spiritual direction — a centuries-old contemplative discipline attending to the deeper movements of the soul: meaning and meaninglessness, presence and absence, call and resistance.
Pillar three — the wisdom of the wounded healer. The third pillar is not a technique but a quality of presence — the experiential, embodied wisdom Wanda brings as a wounded healer who has done her own deep inner healing work. She meets the spiritual and psychological dimensions of her clients’ experience from a place of genuine understanding, knowing from the inside that the path through exists.
Who is Integrative Psycho-Spiritual Therapy for?
- Those whose healing journey has always felt inseparable from their spiritual life
- Those who have done psychological work and still feel something essential is untouched
- Those in the midst of spiritual crisis — loss of faith, collapse of meaning, spiritual desolation
- Those drawn to the deeper existential questions — who they are, why they are here, what their life means
- Those from a specific spiritual or religious tradition who want their therapy to honour it
- Those with no specific tradition but a rich personal spiritual life rooted in nature, mystery, or connection
- Those who have experienced trauma with a significant spiritual dimension
- Those in the second half of life navigating questions of legacy, mortality, and what truly matters
All paths honoured — no tradition required
Wanda draws on the wisdom of multiple spiritual and contemplative traditions — including Christian mysticism and contemplative prayer, Indigenous spiritual wisdom and connection to the land, Jewish spiritual and ethical thought, Buddhist contemplative practice, Taoist philosophy, Jungian depth psychology, and the broader mystical and perennial traditions. What matters is not which tradition you come from — or whether you come from any tradition at all. What matters is that your spiritual life is real to you, and that it deserves to be met with genuine depth, care, and skill.
